How do I Know When to Charge my Pathfinder?
WARNING! Use only the battery charger that came with your Pathfinder. Other chargers may damage the batteries or the Pathfinder.
There are a number of ways to tell when your battery needs to be charged.
1. The Battery Status Area is at the bottom of your display screen in the lower right corner.

The Battery Status Area displays the current percentage of a full battery charge. 100% is a full charge. When you plug in the battery charger, this area turns blue and displays the word, Charger. When the batteries are fully charged, the Battery Status Area turns green and displays the word, Full.
NOTE: If you do not see the battery percentage displayed in the Battery Status Area, go to the FEEDBACK MENU and turn Battery Status ON.
2. Press the STATUS key once. The STATUS key is the third key down to the left of your display screen.Tthe battery percentage is also listed in the STATUS menu. If your Battery Status Area below your Display is turned Off , you can always check the battery percentage in the STATUS menu.

3. When the batteries get low, the Pathfinder sounds a Low Battery warning. This is a two-toned repeating beep.
NOTE: The Low Battery warning starts when battery capacity drops below 15%. The warning beeps are repeated for every 2% drop in battery capacity. When the battery capacity drops to 4%, the warning is repeated every 20 seconds. When the batteries are dead, the Pathfinder powers down completely and you cannot use it.
4. When the batteries are low, the Battery Status Area below the display turns red and shows the amount of charge remaining in the batteries, for example, 14%.
5. When the batteries are low, the Low Battery LED on the left front of the case will light. This is the LED nearest the icon of the two small batteries.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When the Low Battery warning sounds, you can no longer do any storing.
If you are in the middle of programming information on the Pathfinder and notice that the battery is getting low, turn off the unit and plug the charger in immediately. If the battery gets too low while programming, your changes may not be saved.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When the Pathfinder is in use during charging, it will take 8-10 hours to fully charge a dead battery. When the Pathfinder is not in use during charging, it will take 4-5 hours to fully charge a dead battery. A fully charged battery should last for 8-10 hours of normal use.
