How do I Adjust the Brightness of my Screen in the Vantage/Vanguard?
You can adjust the brightness of your backlighting by doing the following:
1. Press the TOOLS key on the top of the case.
2. Select the FEEDBACK MENU from the toolbox.
3. Select the Backlight Intensity option by activating the UP or DOWN arrow keys to adjust the intensity.
The highest intensity is 6. The lowest intensity is 0. The default is 3.
The intensity of the backlight changes on your device as you change the setting so that you can see the difference.
4. Select OK to exit.
A NOTE ON BACKLIGHTING AND CONSERVING BATTERY ENERGY
For the Vantage
The batteries will last 2 hours longer if backlighting is set at #1 instead of #6.
This 2-hour difference will happen only when there is no activity on your device. With activations and speaking, the 2-hour time frame will decrease, but not as rapidly as it would if backlighting were set at #6.
For the Vanguard II
The batteries will last 3 hours longer if backlighting is set at #0 instead of #6.
This three-hour difference will happen only when there is no activity on your device. With activations and speaking, the three-hour time frame will decrease, but not as rapidly as it would if backlighting were set at #6.
