How do I Connect the PF to a Tracker 2000

Use these instructions in conjunction with the instructions in the Tracker 2000 manual.

Connect the Tracker 2000 to the Pathfinder

1. Position the Tracker 2000 Tracker unit on the Pathfinder. The round ball at the front of Tracker 2000 contains a sensor. This sensor must be positioned so that it points toward the user.

You received a number of cables with your Tracker. Use these cables and follow the directions below to hook up your Tracker and Pathfinder.

1. One of your cables has a connector on it that is larger than any of the others. This is a 26-pin connector. Plug this large connector directly into the 26-pin connector on the back of the Tracker 2000 unit.

2. Plug the PS/2-to-serial-mouse-adapter-cable (yellow band) into one of the small round connectors of the PS/2 mouse cable (orange band).

3. Plug the 9-pin serial connector into the Multi port (picture of joystick) on the top of the Pathfinder.

4. Plug the small end of the AC power adapter  into the back of the Tracker 2000 unit. Plug the charger (large) end into a working wall socket or power bar.

On the Pathfinder

1. Select the STATUS key twice (The STATUS key is the third key down on the front of the case to the left of the display)

2. Choose SELECT TECH menu (Selection Technique menu)

3. Choose Selection Technique (option #1) until you see Headpointing.

4. Select OK to exit the menu

Place the reflective dot on your forehead, the bridge of your glasses or any other movable location on your body.

If you see a green light, Tracker 2000 has detected the dot and is in the best position.
If you see a red light, you need to center yourself or position yourself closer to the Tracker.

See your Pathfinder Operator's Manual for adjusting the speed of the mouse, acceptance time, color, etc.
