Adding the PRC Picture Set to Boardmaker
The following steps allow you to add the PRC Picture Set to Boardmaker.
These instructions are for Boardmaker version 5 and the PRC Picture Set version 2.
NOTE: Boardmaker must already be installed on your computer in order to complete these instructions.
1. Insert the PRC Picture Set CD into the CD drive on your computer.
2. If the PRC Picture Set does not open automatically on your computer, go to your CD drive and open it.
3. Click on the BRDMKR file then click on Open (or double-click on the BRDMKR file to open it).
4. Copy the PRC.pcs file to your Desktop: click on and drag the file to your desktop or use the Copy and Paste options in the File menu.
5. Remove the PRC Picture Set CD from your CD drive.
6. Insert the Boardmaker CD into your CD drive and run the Boardmaker program: go to your computer's Start menu; select Programs; select Mayer-Johnson; select Boardmaker.
7. You see a page with three options on it. Right now you do not want any of the options, so click on Cancel.
8. You are now in the Boardmaker window. Click on the File menu.
9. Select Import...
10. Select Windows Symbol File.
11. The dialogue box says "Select PCS file to convert." In the dialogue box's pull-down menu, select Desktop.
12. Click on the PRC.pcs file and then click on Open.
13. Type a new name for the file if you want to, but it is fine to just use the default name that is already there (PRC.pc2).
14. In a few seconds you will see a message that tells you the symbol files are converted but they must be categorized manually. Click on OK. (You don't have to categorize the icons in order to use them.)
15. You are now in the Boardmaker window. Click on the Symbol File Tool (the picture of a man with the hair) on the left side of the window.
16. In the Symbol Finder box, type the word VOLT. You should see the PRC VOLT icon. Type in SUN. You will see all the relevant PRC SUN icons. Use the left and right arrows in the box to navigate through the icons.
17. Delete the PRC.pcs file from your computer Desktop. You no longer need this file.
18. The PRC icons are now included in Boardmaker.
