"40 for 40" Program - Where Are They Now?
Makayla received her Vantage through the PRC “40 for 40” program during a celebration at the PRC headquarters in Wooster, Ohio.
In recent communication with her former SLP at Ida Sue School, Patti Dolges shared with us that Makayla is no longer using her device. “She is using her own voice now and her own words and her device has since been donated to yet another family to assist their child with speech impairment,” she stated.
Ms. Dolges stated, “I know without a doubt that Makayla would not be speaking now if it were not for the Vantage. She worked with the device for an extended time and ultimately began to make her own words. I am thoroughly convinced that the device was instrumental in her learning to speak.”
