Krista Howard
Krista added her creative touch to a PRC t-shirt.Krista has been a PRC favorite for years! She is a PRC Ambassador, serving us at conferences, camps and other places where people want to see successful augmented communicators. Krista's first AAC device was a PRC Touch Talker when she was in the first grade. Since then, she has used the PRC Liberator, Pathfinder and now she uses a Vantage Lite for her communication.
Krista is currently a student at Estrella Mountain Community College and wants to be an SLPA or a teacher's assistant. "I love children and helping them to better themselves," Krista says. "I will be in a classroom helping the special needs students to learn and improve their goals in life."
Aside from her life as a student, she helps run a Phoenix "Out and About" group for device users. This group meets monthly providing support not only for AAC device users but those that support them (families, SLPs, etc.). Krista plans fun activities that promote device use.

One Phoenix mom says, "Krista makes me see the future for my child, and it is so much brighter than I could have dreamed. It is just so neat to see how much FUN she has, and that she's just so cool!"
Krista with her FiancéKrista says, "My device has allowed me to tell how I feel, and also my needs and wants. It has allowed me to talk to people I don't know. Also it lets me talk on the phone, and tell my fiancé exactly what I am trying to say." Krista recently became engaged. She says, "I'm engaged to a wonderful guy who makes my life better."
