Back to Map Mia Emerson received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Speech Pathology from Eastern Washington University. Mia has worked for over 20 years in the field of disabilities, with more than 10 of those years as a speech/language pathologist focusing on AAC. Mia is a frequent seminar presenter on topics such as the integration of AAC in the classroom, using technology with autistic students, and the development of functional assistive technology supports. She is also active in a statewide effort to increase the AAC knowledge-base of speech language pathologists.

Joan Sharp is a special educator who worked for 15 years as a teacher and program specialist before accepting a position with PRC in 1997. She has had extensive experience in the field of AAC. As a PRC consultant, Joan provides consultations, device demonstrations, and trainings for AAC evaluation teams at various schools, vocational programs, hospitals, and university's throughout Northern California and Oregon.
