DarletteDarlette has served as a PRC regional consultant since 1988. Trained as a Master's Level Speech-Language Pathologist, Darlette has a background in Linguistics and experience in teaching English as a second language. Her career in AAC began as a research assistant at the University of Pittsburgh on a two year grant from the Department of Education entitled "Promoting Communication in Non-speakers". Although her clinical experience is varied, her most extensive work as a speech-language pathologist was with adults with acquired language disorders. She is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh where she assists in teaching classes on AAC. She also volunteers time to work with individuals who need assistance with their communication systems.

Ken KwasniewskiKen Kwasniewski, M.A., CCC-SLP, Ken Kwasniewski earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Pennsylvania State University. He completed a Master of Arts Degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh and holds a M.S. in school psychology from California University of Pennsylvania. Ken was employed by Pittsburgh Public Schools as a Speech and Language Specialist for over 35 years. This position permitted him to meet the communicative needs of Pittsburgh Public Schools children in regular education, centered based schools, and in inclusive settings. For five years he served as an assistive technology consultant. His responsibilities were to provide service to a variety of children with disabilities who use speech generating devices and other assistive technology. He was responsible for the evaluation and development of communication options for children ages 3 -21. Ken has experience providing training and technical support to clinicians, teachers, and families of device users. Ken has always had an interest in supporting children with disabilities with literacy and in assisting them in being successful in the academic curriculum. He has a private practice devoted to providing augmentative communication to adults. Ken is on the Board of Governors for the Masonic Learning Center for children. Their fundamental purpose is to provide, free of charge, professional reading and written language instruction to children and young adults with dyslexia.
