Dan Mills earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame, and has both the M.Ed degree and an Instructional II Certification in Special Education from Millersville State University in PA. He taught a secondary Learning Support Class in Maine for 4 years, followed by a 5 year stint as an administrator for a foster care agency in Pennsylvania. The bulk of Dan's experience consists of 20 years as a teacher in a Physical Support class for Colonial Intermediate Unit 20, in PA. He was the leader of a trans-disciplinary team, ensuring that all necessary services were coordinated and focused to address students' Individual Education Program (IEP). Assistive technology (including speech generating devices) played a major role in helping students communicate, learn and access their environment more independently with use of a variety of assistive technologies. Dan has had much experience with an array of AT and AAC equipment during his years in the classroom. He eagerly awaits opportunities to provide training and technical support to clinicians, teachers, families and device users.
