Communication is the essence of human life. Personal, educational, and vocational potential is contingent upon the ability to communicate. Each person needing a communication system should be provided with the equipment, services and information that will yield the highest possible level of personal achievement, without regard to specific manufacturers or service providers.

Role:
The PRC Consultant offers education and support to professionals who provide services in communication and assistive technology access. The PRC Consultant provides funding information to professionals and individuals who need a PRC communication system. The PRC Consultant may serve as a resource during the evaluation process by meeting with other professionals to assist them in the determination of appropriate augmentative communication equipment.

Behaviors:
The PRC Consultant strives to place the interests of people who rely on augmentative and alternative communication above all other interests, and shall encourage and assist others to do the same. The PRC Consultant strives, through diverse means of education, to maintain a high level of expertise in the various aspects of the field of augmentative communication.
