Back to Map Kara Bidstrup earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University, and completed her Master's Degree in Clinical Speech Pathology in August of 2003 at Northern Arizona University. Following her Masters, Kara has specialized in the field of assistive technology and augmentative/alternative communication serving a variety of children and adults with disabilities who use speech generating devices and other assistive technology. In her most recent position, she was responsible for developing and teaching a middle school special education classroom for orthopedically impaired students using speech generating devices to communicate and access their education. Margaret has worked in public school settings for the past 19 years in a variety of capacities. She has had the opportunity to work as a Speech and Language Pathologist specializing in AAC, a member of Assistive Technology Teams as well as a classroom teacher in an elementary school for students who were AAC users. Margaret earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University, her Master of Arts, in Speech Pathology from Ohio State University and is a certified ATP of RESNA. Her first experience with individuals with severe physical impairments began in high school as a camp counselor and has been involved in related fields since then. As a Speech Pathologist she has attended workshops, taken coursework and specialized in the area of AAC so that she can continue to provide the best service possible for individuals that she works with.
