Profile of Success - Jesse McKinney

My name is Jesse McKinney. I am a 36-year-old digital artist, author, husband, father, and nationally ranked wheelchair bodybuilding champion. My wife and I live with our 6-year-old daughter in a small town in central Pennsylvania called Duboistown. I've competed four times over the past six years in the annual NPC Wheelchair National Bodybuilding Championships held in West Palm Beach, Florida. Pumping iron is one of my favorite things to do and it has changed my life. The gains in strength have increased my independence and competing has put me in FLEX Magazine and in close contact with world class professional bodybuilders. In 2001, I won the Novice division championship at the Nationals. Next year I hope to take the Masters division title.

I have used a Liberator for 12 years for public speaking and general communication when out in public. However, I'm now using a Pathfinder and find it far more user-friendly. It is perfect for when I do posing demonstrations or speak about health and fitness. Kids are especially amazed at how my Pathfinder works and it is fun to inspire them to get stronger. As a certified personal trainer, I have used my device to train clients to lift and exercise correctly. Now, I do more demonstrations than training but the Pathfinder is still a huge help to me.

When I'm not pumping iron or busy with my family, I work on creating digital artwork and designs to earn a small living. My home-based business specializes in all types of digital design and artwork. Everything I do is completely original. No stock art is ever used in any of my work because I feel it makes my work more valuable. My work ranges in sizes from postcards to 24"x 36" paintings, posters, and signs. Although most of my jobs involve graphic design and photo editing/enhancing, I prefer doing fine art and painting because not many people do fine art with a computer-- plus it is fun to be creative. For more information on ordering greeting cards or paintings, email me at kiltedscot@chilitech.net or call (570) 326-5145.
