WordPower for ECO-14

WordPower for ECO-14 now available! WordPower and Picture WordPower for the ECO are upgraded vocabularies that have been programmed to take advantage of the newest hardware and software innovations from Prentke Romich. The ECO-14 is an integrated AAC device. WordPower and Picture WordPower are sophisticated vocabularies that have been designed to make speech generation easy and natural. In addition to these logical and intuitive vocabularies, WordPower and Picture WordPower now serve as the interface for the integrated ECO computer. The system operator can move smoothly between communicating with the device, navigating the Internet, playing games on the computer, sending e-mail, and generating documents using WordPower vocabularies. Schuyler's Monster

In his upcoming book, Schuyler's Monster: A Father's Journey with His Wordless Daughter, Robert Rummel-Hudson, speaks openly and honestly about his daughter and their fight against her "invisible monster," Bilateral perisylvian polymicrogyria. 2007 Edwin and Esther Prentke AAC Distinguished Lecturer Winner

The Prentke Romich Company would like to congratulate Robert O'Gurek on being named the 2007 Edwin and Esther Prentke AAC Distinguished Lecturer. Robert was chosen by a committee of ASHA members and was presented the award on November 16, 2007 at the national ASHA Conference. Click here to read Robert's lecture.

Staffing Announcement - Renee Paratore, M.A., Ed

We are pleased to announce that Renee Paratore, M.A., Ed is now serving as Regional Consultant in Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Renee Paratore earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She completed her Master's Degree in Education and Human Development at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She has over eight years experience working within the public schools and has worked with a variety of students from grades PreK-12. In her most recent position, Renee was the Homebound Teacher for Special Education. She became interested in AAC when one of the students she worked with used a device. She was very impressed with what this particular student was able to do and how well she was able to communicate.

Renee covers Colorado and the area of Cheyenne, WY.
