Device Information New Features and Capabilities in Vantage and Vanguard: Staff Profile Jennifer Monahan, M.A., CCC-SLP PRC Regional Consultant in Southern Ohio
Jennifer Monahan, M.A., CCC-SLP is in her second year of employment with PRC, and came to us from Specialized Speech Technologies, a private clinic in Worthington, Ohio, where she was Clinic Manager and provided direct client services. She also worked in the public schools for four years serving children aged 4-12 with a wide variety of disabilities.
Jenny earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University, her Master of Arts in Speech Pathology from Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!!) and was a classroom assistant at the Nisonger Early Childhood Education Center in Columbus. She has also earned CEU credits in a variety of focus areas including central auditory processing disorder, autism spectrum disorder, apraxia, oral motor assessment and intervention and birth-to-3 intervention techniques.
Jenny can develop a customized training for your staff of professionals and does presentations for both graduate and undergraduate AAC classes. Over the past year she has provided training to the students and faculty at the Ohio State University Speech/Hearing Clinic, to the staff at both Children's Hospital in Columbus and Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, and many other highly recognized facilities in Ohio offering AAC training and services. Jennifer's training classes range from "AAC Evaluating 101" to providing training on the most empowering language systems in PRC devices.
Jennifer believes that she serves her territory best by being active in a wide variety of AAC activities. In addition to offering trainings, she actively participates in the AAC camps where parents and children are introduced to AAC and the wide variety of products and support that are available. In addition, she is currently serving a three-year term on the Board of Directors for "VSA Arts of Ohio." VSA Arts, formerly known as Very Special Arts, is an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts with primary funding under an award from the U.S. Department of Education. As a board member, Jennifer helps to encourage and promote individuals with disabilities who display musical or artistic talents. Read more about VSA.
