People need categorization skills
- Whether they use multi-meaning icons.
- Or page navigation in their communication device.
- They also need to learn that one member of the group can represent the whole group, not just its own label.
Ways to learn categorization
- By sorting toys, and
- By retrieving toys from containers where they have been stored by category.
Once the beginner has shown categorization skills, he or she is ready to begin using multi-meaning icons.
