Anthony Arnold
Anthony ArnoldTwo PRC employees nominated Anthony Arnold as an AAC Hero. Both  Lori and Janie consider Anthony their “friend and co-worker.”

Lori Hamlin, Technical Service Representative:
Anthony comes from a GREAT supportive family that has been behind him every step of the way. They have always worked with him and supplied any therapy and education they possibly could to make him the incredible person he is today. He is so loving and caring and never has a bad word to say about anyone!

When Anthony was very young and doctors and therapist didn't have any hope for him, he and his parents did not give up. They found an awesome SLP who worked with him with the PRC TouchTalker. Anthony now uses a Pathfinder for his communication.

Anthony is an excellent speaker and motivator. He is very strong in his ability to communicate and has always offered to supply help in any way that PRC has needed, whether that be to work some extra hours or to beta test new software on his own time.

Anthony is always attending PEC and Closing the Gap. He speaks at a local college often to new and upcoming SLP's and goes to local high schools to motivate kids. I would like to see Anthony give more speeches to motivate more users and families and let them know what is possible.

Janie Burgan, Administrative Assistant to R & D:
Anthony Arnold is from Grand Forks, North Dakota. He works out of his home for the Prentke Romich Company. He is a remote troubleshooter for the technical service department. He handles technical questions and issues people may have during the nighttime and weekend hours. In addition to the technical service, he also does beta testing on newer communication devices, and software to find problems and offer suggestions on improvements before the product is released. He also serves as a board member at Options’ Interstate Independent Living Center located in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. He became interested in communication devices, assistive technology and disability issues because he was born with Cerebral Palsy, and throughout his rehabilitation, he has been amazed with the things that have helped him, and he wants to ensure other people get the same opportunities, if not better ones.

Anthony is a people person, and he is always willing to help others. People love being around him. He's not only a wonderful person, but he is very intelligent and patient. He is definitely a hero to me. I've watched him grow over the years, and I'm amazed at how enthusiastic he is, and in his willingness to help others.

Anthony enjoys playing on computers, surfing and chatting on the Internet, swimming, updating his website, lifting weights, going out especially to a bar called Buck’s and going to Fighting Sioux Hockey Games at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. He also enjoys taking long bike rides on my modified bicycle.

Quote from Anthony: “For the vocational people, I hope PRC and my success and experience with doing this, is like our “ground breaking” to build other opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities who have the mental ability to make differences somewhere and in some cases make life easier for others in the long run.”
