- On-Call AAC Educator based in Kansas City and surrounding areas
A PRC Regional Consultant’s role is to expand our reach by building new clinical relationships, as well as support existing customers, and demonstrating good clinical practice with success. This success is achieved by educating and supporting parents and professionals (SLP, teachers, and others) who provide evaluation and therapy services in the field of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
A Regional Consultant must have strong presentation skills to educate in the areas of language development, implementation strategies, and device customization. Responsibilities include: building new and maintaining current customer/client relationships; demonstration of PRC products; providing education and training; and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and computer access methods with PRC devices. Regional Consultants must be able to work remotely and independently, manage expenses, maintain product demonstration equipment, seek funding sources, and keep current with new information regarding AAC topics and access methods. A Regional Consultant has the ability to inspire, educate, and influence customers and purchase decisions and must have excellent communication skills. Regional Consultants are assigned a specific geographic region and may have opportunities to work in collaboration with other consultants. Travel within the territory and surrounding areas is expected. Occasional travel to national conferences and required consultant meetings as needed.
PRC promotes the highest standards of ethical practice. Regional Consultants must have training as a speech-language pathologist, rehab professional (OT, PT), or special educator with experience in evaluation for and implementation of AAC systems. Our most successful Regional Consultants combine strong clinical knowledge, an understanding of the critical role of language development in AAC to include in-services on Unity (our primary language application), excellent organizational and presentation skills, and the ability to seek new business through developing relationships. Candidates must have a passion for enabling and supporting device users and be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
