Carmen Balderrama PRC awarded a Vanguard Plus to Carmen 'Selene' Balderrama through the "40 for 40" program.
Selene is an 18-year-old young woman with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Selene received speech language therapy since entering the public school system. She currently attends Northglenn High School. She understands both English and Spanish.
Selene's SLP writes, "Selene is truly a delightful young lady who has much more to share with the world than her body will let her. She deserves a chance to have a voice regardless of her family's financial and/or insurance situation. I thank you for this possibility and for considering Selene in your very generous '40 for 40' program. Here's to 40 more years!"
Selene is shown here with PRC Regional Consultant Teresa Parrill at the presentation ceremony, December 2006.
